A witty saying proves nothing. [Select]

Voltaire {Categories: Success and Failure, Wisdom and Ignorance}

Monsieur Voltaire is right, of course. A witty saying, or an aphorism, doesn't prove anything. But it can often serve as food for thought, which in many cases is every bit as useful.

When you want to sell, convince, praise, insult, jest or impress, a carefully selected aphorism is a great help. You can use aphorisms in speeches, email signatures, advertising, articles, invitations, etc. Somehow, it's often easier to make a point by quoting someone else than by relying entirely on your own eloquence.

The best results are achieved by not only using the quote itself, but by also indicating the source. The goal of Aphorisms Galore! is to store an abundance of aphorisms along with information on their origin, and make all this available with an easy to use interface. It is meant to be an interactive service, so contributions and feedback from its users are accepted and encouraged.

I hope you will find Aphorisms Galore! useful, enlightning and entertaining. Contribute your own favorite sayings, and come back often to see the latest additions (check the "News" section for information on recent changes). And remember...

If you cannot convince them, confuse them. [Select]
